Guest Terms & Conditions

1. BOOKING RULES

These Booking Rules shall apply to all guests, co-guests, family members, attendants, students, interns, medical tourists, event tourists, temporary residents, visitors approved for stay, and any other person occupying or using the accommodation through a booking made on the Rented Ghar platform.

By making a reservation, submitting booking details, making payment, checking into the property, or using any accommodation service, the guest acknowledges that he or she has read, understood, and agreed to be legally bound by these Booking Rules.

The guest shall provide true, complete, current, and accurate information at the time of booking, including full legal name, age, gender, nationality, permanent address, contact number, email address, emergency contact details, identity document details, purpose of stay, number of occupants, expected arrival date, and expected departure date.

2. IDENTITY VERIFICATION

Identity verification is a fundamental condition for availing accommodation through Rented Ghar. Every guest, occupant, visitor permitted for overnight stay, medical attendant, intern, student, temporary resident, and co-occupant shall undergo identity verification before obtaining access to the accommodation.

Guests shall provide valid government-issued identification documents including, but not limited to: Aadhaar Card / PAN Card; Passport; Driving Licence; Voter Identity Card; Government Employee Identity Card where legally acceptable; or any other identification document approved by applicable law and accepted by Rented Ghar.

Foreign nationals shall provide a Valid Passport, Valid Visa, Immigration Entry Stamp, and any additional documents required by immigration authorities, police authorities, or applicable governmental regulations.

3. AGE RESTRICTIONS

To make a booking independently through the Rented Ghar platform, a guest must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and legally competent to enter into a binding contract under the Indian Contract Act, 1872. Any booking made by a person below eighteen years of age without lawful supervision may be cancelled immediately.

Guests below eighteen years of age may occupy accommodation only if accompanied by a Parent, Legal guardian, Lawfully authorised custodian, or Responsible adult approved by Rented Ghar.

4. CHECK-IN

Check-in shall be permitted only after: Confirmation of booking; Completion of payment obligations; Identity verification; and Compliance with applicable property rules.

The standard check-in time shall be communicated in the booking confirmation. Early check-in shall be subject to availability and additional charges where applicable. Guests are encouraged to inspect the accommodation at check-in and immediately report any defects, shortages, maintenance concerns, or discrepancies.

5. CHECK-OUT

Guests shall vacate the accommodation by the check-out time specified in the booking confirmation. Upon check-out, the guest shall return possession of the accommodation, return keys, access cards, and devices, remove personal belongings, and leave the accommodation in a reasonably clean condition.

Late check-out shall be subject to prior approval. Unauthorised occupation beyond the permitted check-out time may result in additional accommodation charges, penalty charges, eviction measures, and legal action where necessary.

6. VISITOR POLICY

Rented Ghar permits visitors only in a regulated manner to ensure the safety, privacy, security, and peaceful enjoyment of the accommodation by all guests, residents, neighbouring occupants, property owners, and staff. No visitor shall be allowed unrestricted access to the property.

No visitor shall stay overnight, sleep in the accommodation, use guest facilities for residential purposes, or continue occupying the property beyond permitted hours unless such person has been added as an approved occupant through the booking process and has completed identity verification formalities.

7. SMOKING

Rented Ghar maintains a strict no-smoking policy inside rooms, bathrooms, balconies where prohibited, corridors, staircases, lifts, enclosed common areas, and any indoor portion of the property unless a designated smoking area has been specifically identified in writing.

The prohibition includes cigarettes, bidis, cigars, electronic cigarettes, vaping devices, hookah, pipes, herbal smoking products, heated tobacco devices, and any other smoking or vaping instrument.

8. ALCOHOL

Possession, consumption, purchase, transportation, or use of alcoholic beverages within the property shall be governed strictly by the laws of Uttar Pradesh and all applicable excise laws, municipal regulations, and governmental notifications.

Alcohol shall not be consumed by any person below the legally prescribed drinking age applicable in Uttar Pradesh. Guests shall provide proof of age if requested by Rented Ghar.

9. ILLEGAL DRUGS

Rented Ghar maintains a zero-tolerance policy towards illegal drugs, narcotic substances, psychotropic substances, controlled substances, banned intoxicants, and any unlawful substance prohibited under Indian law, including the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985.

Guests shall not possess, consume, store, manufacture, distribute, sell, purchase, transport, facilitate, conceal, or permit the use of illegal drugs within the property or in connection with their stay.

10. NOISE RESTRICTIONS

Rented Ghar is committed to ensuring that every guest, resident, student, intern, medical tourist, event tourist, neighbour, property owner, and occupant enjoys a safe, peaceful, and comfortable environment. Guests shall conduct themselves in a manner that does not create excessive noise, disturbance, nuisance, or inconvenience to others.

Quiet hours shall ordinarily apply between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM, or such other hours as may be prescribed for the particular property. During quiet hours, guests shall ensure that conversations, electronic devices, televisions, telephones, and all activities are conducted at minimal volume.

11. DAMAGE

Guests shall use the accommodation, furniture, fixtures, fittings, appliances, utensils, electronics, sanitary facilities, decorative items, common areas, and all property assets with reasonable care and diligence.

The guest shall be fully liable for any loss, damage, breakage, destruction, theft, misuse, staining, burning, alteration, or deterioration caused by the guest, co-guests, visitors, children, attendants, or any person permitted by the guest to enter the property.

12. PETS

Pets shall be permitted only in properties specifically designated as pet-friendly by Rented Ghar. Guests shall not bring any pet into a non-pet-friendly property without prior written approval.

Guests intending to bring a pet shall disclose the species, breed, size, age, number of pets, and vaccination status at the time of booking. Approval may be refused based on property restrictions, health considerations, resident welfare association rules, or safety concerns.

13. CHILDREN

Children below eighteen years of age may stay only when accompanied by a parent, legal guardian, or authorised responsible adult, unless otherwise permitted by law and by the specific property. The accompanying adult shall remain fully responsible for the supervision, safety, conduct, health, hygiene, and behaviour of the child throughout the stay.

14. MEDICAL EMERGENCIES

Rented Ghar acknowledges that guests may include medical tourists, patients, attendants, students, interns, senior citizens, and temporary residents who may require urgent medical attention during their stay. Guests shall remain solely responsible for their personal health, medical condition, medication, treatment, insurance coverage, and emergency preparedness.

Rented Ghar does not provide medical treatment, nursing services, ambulance services, clinical supervision, emergency healthcare, pharmaceutical services, or hospital facilities unless expressly stated in writing for a specific property.

15. LOST PROPERTY

Guests are solely responsible for safeguarding their personal belongings, including cash, jewellery, electronic devices, documents, passports, identity cards, medicines, luggage, valuables, academic materials, professional equipment, and other personal effects during their stay.

Unless property is specifically deposited with Rented Ghar against written acknowledgement, Rented Ghar does not assume custody, bailment, insurance responsibility, or security responsibility for guest belongings.

16. INTERNET USAGE

Internet or Wi-Fi services may be provided as a convenience to guests and are subject to technical availability, network coverage, bandwidth limitations, maintenance activities, service provider performance, power supply, and operational conditions. Guests shall use internet services only for lawful, ethical, and reasonable purposes.

17. ELECTRICITY USAGE

Guests shall use electricity responsibly, economically, and in a manner consistent with ordinary residential use. Electricity is provided for lighting, ventilation, cooling, charging personal devices, and operation of installed appliances. Guests shall not use high-load equipment, commercial equipment, industrial appliances, electric heaters where prohibited, induction systems, cooking devices, extension networks, or illegal wiring without prior written approval.

18. WATER USAGE

Guests shall use water responsibly, economically, and in a manner consistent with ordinary residential use. Water is provided for personal hygiene, drinking, cooking where permitted, sanitation, and other reasonable domestic purposes. Excessive, wasteful, or negligent consumption is prohibited.

19. PARKING

Parking facilities, where provided, are offered subject to availability, space limitations, property rules, resident welfare association rules, and operational requirements. A booking confirmation does not guarantee availability of a parking space unless specifically stated in writing.

20. REFUNDS

Refunds shall be governed by the cancellation policy applicable to the specific booking, these Terms, the booking confirmation, and applicable consumer protection laws. Refund eligibility may depend upon the time of cancellation, booking category, promotional offer conditions, non-refundable rates, seasonal restrictions, and whether the guest has checked in.

21. EVICTION

Rented Ghar reserves the right to terminate the stay and evict any guest from the property where the guest breaches these Terms, house rules, applicable law, or lawful directions issued by authorised personnel.

22. POLICE VERIFICATION

Guests acknowledge that police verification, guest registration, and maintenance of guest records may be mandatory under applicable laws, police regulations, local orders, and public safety requirements in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh.

Guests shall provide all information and documents reasonably required for police verification, including identity proof, address proof, contact details, photograph, travel details, purpose of stay, duration of stay, and details of accompanying persons.
